There are a number of ways to execute a takeoff and landing with HA Ground Control. While manual takeoff and landing are recommended, autonomous options are available. Always ensure the takeoff and landing area is free of obstructions such as trees or tall grass to avoid risks.
For manual takeoff and landing, procedures to arm and disarm the vehicle before and after flight are required.
Autonomous Takeoff
In the Fly Tools menu, press the Takeoff button (this toggles to a Land button after execution). By default, autonomous takeoff climbs to an altitude of 10.0 m. This can be adjusted using the vertical slider on the right of the screen.
To confirm takeoff:
- Use the slider on the prompt at the top of the screen.
Landing
During flight, the Fly Tools menu contains a Land button. This can be used to land at any time at the current location, assuming it is safe.
To land:
- Press the Land button.
- Confirm by using the slider on the prompt at the top of the screen.
Autonomous Return to Launch (RTL) or Nearest Rally Point
During flight, the Fly Tools menu contains a Return button. This is used to land at the predefined home position or the closest rally point.
To return to launch:
- Press the Return button.
- Confirm RTL by using the slider on the prompt at the top of the screen.
IMPORTANT
Vehicles commonly return to the "home" (takeoff) location and land. This behavior depends on vehicle type and configuration; rally points or mission landings may be used as alternative targets.
