Radio Options – All Drone Models

Your Harris Aerial Drones will come equipped with one of the following radio options:

Avionics Inspection Procedures

If self-maintenance has been performed in the avionics bay, a visual inspection of all connections is recommended.

Wiring and Connectors

• JST and JST-GH:

• Location: Avionics Plate.
• JST Verification: Ensure pin 1 is wired to ground (black) and pin 2 is wired to hot (red). Confirm each pin is secured in its housing.
• JST-GH Verification: Ensure each connector is seated in its respective port on the Pixhawk or DC-DC converter (power module) and each pin is secured.

• Servo Connections:

• Location: Avionics Plate, Pixhawk Rail, and Rear of Flight Control Box.
• Pixhawk Rail: Verify connectors are securely inserted with the ground wire (black) facing up. Do not tamper with the order of servo connections.
• Flight Control Box: Verify the servo connector on the rear wall has the ground wire (black) facing upward to avoid loss of generator telemetry.

Coaxial Cable and Antenna Inspection

Trained personnel should inspect all COAX connections and antennas at the following locations: Rear Legs, Booms 1–3, Booms 5, and the Flight Control Box.

• Coaxial Terminator: Check for damage (bent or crushed terminators) and remove debris. Verify cables are secured with an 8mm lock and tooth washer.
• Antennas: Ensure the gender for each antenna is the opposite of its associated COAX terminator to prevent communication loss or hardware damage. Verify the housing integrity.

Harris Aerial (HA) aircraft utilize various radio systems for long-range communication and telemetry.

Ensure the following generator, telemetry, & connectivity checks are done regularly — especially after self-maintenance.
